Very large double wave.......

   This was a very neat set of waves south of Fort Bragg. These were a lot bigger than they look here. This was a very big wave off of the Spring Ranch headlands. When the waves are kicking, it's hard to beat spring ranch for a great view.

Explosive wave off the rocks this morning

 I shot this wave today a little north of Fort Bragg. The ocean was choppy and the sunlight was intense so I was glad to get this  one. Out of 512 pictures I got 2, this and one other one. I like them but they aren't my best...

Passing wave in process of crashing into the rocks..

   This shot is cool as there were a lot of large waves coming in. I usually shoot the wave coming in but this is a shot after it has passed. Its is a hell of a lot more powerful and impressive when there in person but it still looks cool in a picture..

Nice Rooster tail with a great curl...

 I shot this wave in the Fort Bragg area about 2 or three days ago. The color was nice and the sets were fairly mellow..This has the kind of color I try to get..

Major wave formations....Big time action..

I shot this wave very early this morning just north of Fort Bragg. I usually don't get up too early but this morning I wanted to get some morning sunlight and knew there would be waves. The ocean is supposed to be flat the rest of the week so I thought I would shoot the waves while they were still there.

Great wave with major splash...

  I shot this wave today. The light was fairly harsh but there was some great wave action and a lot of large splash action as well...I shot this 20 minutes or so north of Fort Bragg.

Clamshell Spray...Very cool splash pattern..

  This was a great day at the Spring Ranch just south of the Mendocino Village in Mendocino, Ca. This place had a lot of direct exposure to the ocean and the waves stay fairly large al the way to impact. I was watching them come in and noticed that this one spot was creating some really cool splashes. I got 3 or 4 pics from this and am really happy with them.

Straight across wave - Great shape....

   This is a nice uniform wave about 5 minutes of Fort Bragg. The waves here are the most consistent AND I can usually find some nice ones here even when the ocean is flat elsewhere. I like the long even waves..

Dark wave with some silver and Green..

    I took this picture at Mackerricher State Park out by the main observation deck. It was cold and windy and the clouds were coming in and the sun was setting. It gave this wave some great light and makes for for an unusual photo.I shot this sometime in December of 2012.

Upward and outward.....Explosive wave..

   This is a very cool picture that is part of a 3 shot set. When I say 3 shot set it means that it is one wave but a got 3 different shots of the same wave at different points but all 3 pictures are some of my best. Usually when I take multiple shots of a wave I'm always happy to get one good shot. This is one of my best...
