Seagull into the wave....

  This is a great shot because the waves were kicking  the sun was out and the ocean / waves had great color. I shot this last September off of the Pudding Creek headland at the north end of Fort Bragg.

NOTE: I am in the process of setting up a website in which I will be selling a collection of my best waves, about 13 picture at this point. They will be available Framed or un framed, Matting only, print only and possibly on metal as well. The will be available in sizes up to 18 x 24 un-framed or matted and framed up to 24 x 30.

In the metal they should be available up to 18 x 24 but could be available in larger sizes...........FYI

Riding the tube...Nice wave..

  I shot this last summer a little North of Fort Bragg. The waves here draw a lot of pro surfers because the waves are so consistent. Sometimes when the ocean seems flat and there are no waves, I can come here and there are usually some good waves in one form or another....

2 waves, one smooth and one jagged..

   
There were some good waves when I took this picture. I was out , north of Fort Bragg watching the surfers do their thing. The waves kept coming and kept breakin g the same way. You would think that was would always be true but not necessarily. I spent most of the day here  when I took this..

big ass wave...major contact..

   This was a shot that was part of a 3 shot series catching the whole set. The rock formations here produce the best waves on the coast I know of. I can sit here all day and shoot wave pictures and take in the scenery. This was shot north of Fort Bragg last October 2012..

Sitting down watching thew waves roll in..

   There is a certain spot around the Mendocino Village area that has some great waves when they come from a certain direction. This is a very cool spot to sit and watch the waves. It's up on the bluffs overlooking the ocean but it is all sand, kind of like a little beach. I can spend hours there . When the sets are coming in here the sets are usually very tight and are very consistent as to the look of the wave. I took these in July of 2012..

Brown Pelican Hunting

   This was a photo I took last summer off the coast here in Fort Bragg. The swells kept rolling in and when I got the off loaded to my computer, there was a brown Pelican in it. I like this one.

Surfing the dark face..

   Since there have not been many waves I'm digging to my surfer Pictures. I like taking surf photos too but my lens only zooms so far so I can only get my shots so
close. With that being said I like this picture because its a large wave and the face is dark. Guess I'm in touch with my dark side. I took this last August, 2012.....

Chop Block...wave action..

  This was a neat wave off of the Mendocino Headlands last September. The waves off of the Mendo headlands can have great color on a sunny day. This day there were a lot of cool waves and they were coming from all directions. That's where the unusual wave patterns come from.

I should mention as I have in the past that this winter has been awful for good waves and the ocean has been really flat. Usually winter is the time where the big storms come in and create the large waves that have all the action.

Hopefully we will get a storm or two soon so I can start adding new Pictures again.
